Forced proximity, written about you

One bed, one storm, nowhere to go. Read a free forced-proximity sample chapter, then have one written with you as the lead at the heat level you choose.

Forced proximity works because it removes the exit. Every other trope depends on characters choosing to stay in the room; this one takes the choice away and lets the pressure do the writing. A storm, a cancelled ferry, one bed, a house with a single warm room.

The mistake is treating the constraint as a plot device to be resolved. The constraint is the story. The best forced-proximity chapters keep the door shut for their whole length and spend the time on what proximity actually does to two people who have been carefully not saying something.

It is also the trope that most rewards real detail. The specific inconvenience matters: whose fault it was, who packed badly, which of you insists on taking the floor. Those particulars are what separate a chapter about you from a chapter about anybody.

Everything else comes from your own interview: who is in it with you, the details only you would think to give, and the limits the story will never cross.

Have one written with you as the lead.

A short interview, your own heat setting, and chapters that arrive built from your details. A person reviews every one before it reaches you.
